FREE ANIMALS SAMPLE PACK - PIXEL ART SIDE-SCROLLER SPRITES
by Fleuff Studios - version 1.0

A free taste of the Fleuff Studios animal packs: a pig + piglet and a duck, duckling + hatching egg from the Farm
pack, and a king penguin + chick from the Zoo pack - 7 animated characters, side view, facing right (flip horizontally in your engine to face left).
They are exactly the same files as in the full packs, so everything below works the same there.

Same style + the same pixel scale, so everything works together.

WHAT'S INSIDE
Sprites/<character>/
<name>_sheet_<W>x<H>_x1.png every animation of the character on one sheet, one row per animation
<name>_sheet_..._x4.png the same sheet scaled 4x (crisp nearest-neighbour)
<name>.json frame size, frames, fps, loop + pivot for every animation
<name>_frames.tres ready-made Godot 4 SpriteFrames resource (all animations, fps + looping set)
<anim>/<name>_<anim>_..._x1.png that animation as a horizontal strip (x1 and x4)
<anim>/frames_x1/, frames_x4/ every frame as its own PNG
<anim>/<name>_<anim>.json frame size, frame count, fps, loop, pivot
  <anim>/preview_<name>_<anim>.gif animated preview

HOW THE FRAMES LINE UP (important!)
- Every animation of a character uses ONE frame size, so you can swap animations without the sprite jumping.
- The feet always end on the frame's second-to-last row (row H-2), and the body is centred left-right.
Put your sprite's pivot / origin at (W/2, H-1) - the bottom centre, right under the feet - and every animal stands
exactly on the same floor (and turns around on the spot when you flip it).
(The pivot is also written in every .json file.)
- Pixel scale is the same for every animal, so sizes are true to life relative to each other: a chick next to
a cow, a joey next to its mum.

USING THE SPRITES
- Any engine: use the strips (one row, frames left to right) or the single-frame PNGs.
Set texture filtering to NEAREST / Point so the pixels stay crisp.
- Godot 4: copy a character's folder into the root of your project (res://<name>/) and assign <name>_frames.tres
to an AnimatedSprite2D. All animations, speeds and looping are already set up.
- Unity: import the x1 strips, set Filter Mode = Point, Compression = None, Sprite Mode = Multiple, then slice by
cell size (W x H from the .json) with the pivot at Bottom Center.
- GameMaker / Construct / others: import the strips as sprite strips with the frame count from the .json.

Frame rates used: idle 5, walk 8-9, run 12-13, peck 8, hop/fly/attack 10, hatch 8 fps (all in the .json files).
